Ibam Emmanuel Onwuka is an Associate Professor of Computer Science (Intelligent Systems) at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), currently on Sabbatical Leave as the Acting Dean, College of Computing at McPherson University Seriki-Sotayo, Ogun State Nigeria. He was the Acting Head of Department of Information Systems, School of Computing (2023-2024), Associate Director (Information Technology) at Open and Distance Learning Centre (2019 – 2024) respectively at FUTA. He received the following degrees: B.Sc. (Computer Science & Statistics) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, M.Sc. (Computer Science) from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and Ph.D (Computer Science) from FUTA. He is a co-recipient of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund)’s National Research Grant Awards on intelligent systems (2015), (2020) and (2023) and Institution Based Research Grant (2024), totalling over Eighty Seven Million Naira (over N87,000,000.00). He has received some international grants and awards for excellence in seminar presentation and researches in the field of Computing and ICT Application from AERN, USA. A one-time Guest Speaker/Lecturer to Virginia Union University Richmond, VA, U.S.A (2011). He is a member of the International Institute of Informatics and Systemic (IIIS); African Educational Research Network (AERN), U.S.A; International Association of Engineers (IAENG) and Computer Professionals of Nigeria (CPN). His areas of research include Software Intelligent Systems, E-learning systems and System Modelling. He has published over 45 papers in reputable Journals and Conference Proceedings visible on Google Scholar with some indexed in Web of Science and Scopus. He has supervised and co-supervised many postgraduate students (M.Tech) and four (4) PhDs to completion. He has attended and presented papers at many conferences locally and internationally.
