Dr. Kayode O. Olumurewa

Dr. Kayode O. Olumurewa, an indegene of Ilesha, Osun State is a lecturer in the Department of Physical and Computer Sciences. He specializes in the field of Materials Science. His academic credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, a Master’s degree in Materials Science, and a Ph.D. in Materials Science from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria.

He is a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry UK, Electrochemical Society (ECS) USA and Materials Research Society (MRS) USA. As a faculty member with seven years experience, he imparts his profound knowledge to students, fostering a culture of curiosity and innovation. His research, a testament to his expertise, has made
significant strides in the fabrication of optoelectronics, energy storage, sensors, and thin films devices.

His research interest involves the design, synthesis, and characterization of advanced and functional new or/and improved materials for applications in fabrication of optoelectronics, energy storage, sensors, and thin films devices. Furthermore, his research forms a materials science interplay between fields of Physics, Engineering, and Chemistry towards designing sustainable materials to improve technological applications and reduce environmental hazards.

Dr. Olumurewa has to his credits awards such as; Distinguished Lecturer of the year Award, McPherson University, College of Natural and Applied Sciences 2022, McPherson University Research Grant (2022)and Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) in Country Scholarship Award for Outstanding Ph.D. Scholars (2019).

His hobbies include playing chess and monopoly.
