The dissertation defense, titled \u201cSmart Escrow Solutions: A Blockchain Platform for Secure Real Estate Transactions in Nigeria,\u201d was delivered by Mr. Udoma Uzoma Sunday, a postgraduate student from the Department of Computer Science. The project explored the use of blockchain technology to address challenges in real estate transactions in Nigeria, offering innovative solutions for transparency and security.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In attendance of the defense included Dr. Babatunde Lawal, Acting Dean of the College of Postgraduate Studies; Dr. Ibam Emmanuel, Acting Dean of the College of Computing; Dr. Kayode Oladapo, Head of the Department of Computer Science; and a few other members of staff. The dissertation was submitted to the Department of Computer Science as part of the requirements for the award of a Master\u2019s degree in Computer Science. The project was supervised by Dr. O.D. To ensure the integrity of the evaluation process, an external examiner, Professor Alese Boniface Kayode from the Department of Cyber Security at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, was invited to assess the dissertation. Professor Kayode\u2019s expertise in cybersecurity added significant value to the review, ensuring a thorough and impartial evaluation of the research.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The presentation highlighted how blockchain technology could revolutionize the real estate sector in Nigeria by creating a secure and transparent platform for escrow transactions.
