Dean’s Welcome Address

Welcome and thank you for visiting the College of Allied Health Sciences (COLAHS) McPherson University (MCU). My name is Unu Lucy Airauhi Ph.D., FIMLS (Nig), AIMLS (UK), (Cert Animal in Teaching & Research, Virginia Tech, USA). I am a Professor of Medical Parasitology and Provost of the College of Allied Health Sciences (COAHS), McPherson University (MCU). I am delighted and privileged to welcome you, parents, students, and alumni to the COAHS, MCU. With the vision to provide excellent quality of higher education to our students, I am proud to inform you that our faculties and departments offer courses in Health and Information Management, Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing Science, and Public Health. At the MCU, we believe that education, which unites opportunity with excellence, is one of the very few interventions that can truly transform lives because it provides the tools for achieving the biggest dreams and contributes to the achievement of one’s full potential. At the COAHS, we encourage students to be critical thinkers poised to be problem solvers by reasoning through problems rather than around them. Particularly, we teach students to ignite in themselves a deep desire to learn for the rest of their lives in order to continue with inquiry and discovery as they create their own paths. With the guidance of our Vice Chancellor, Professor Francis Igbasan, and the hard work of members of the faculty, departments, and administrative units, the college strives to be ranked among the best.
