The Vice Chancellor of McPherson University, Professor Francis Igbasan, on Monday received a congratulatory visit from members of staff of the University with affiliation to the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), following his conferment of the prestigious Registry Appreciation Award by the Registry of FUTA.
The delegation was led by Professor Victor Oyetayo, Dean College of Natural and Applied Sciences. It comprised members of staff currently serving at McPherson University who are on sabbatical from FUTA, as well as members of staff who are FUTA alumni. They congratulated the Vice Chancellor on the well deserved recognition, describing the award as a reflection of his exemplary leadership, commitment to excellence, and outstanding contributions to higher education.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Professor Oyetayo commended Professor Igbasan for his distinguished service to academia and university administration. He noted that the honour was a testament to the Vice Chancellor’s integrity, visionary leadership, and lasting impact on the academic community.
Responding, Professor Igbasan expressed heartfelt appreciation to the delegation for the thoughtful visit and their goodwill. He thanked them for identifying with him and celebrating the recognition, describing the award as an encouragement to remain steadfast in the pursuit of excellence, integrity, and selfless service.
The Vice Chancellor charged members of staff to remain committed to their responsibilities and to continue making meaningful contributions to the growth and development of the University system. He also reminded them of the importance of giving back to society through impactful service, mentorship, and excellence in their respective fields.
