Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria Conducts Accreditation Visit to McPherson University

The Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN) has paid an accreditation visit to McPherson University as part of its resource verification exercise for the University’s Health Information Management programme.

The Board is the regulatory body responsible for the education, training, registration, licensing and regulation of Health Information Management professionals in Nigeria. It also ensures that institutions offering Health Information Management programmes meet the prescribed standards in staffing, infrastructure, equipment, curriculum and other resources required for quality professional training.

The accreditation team was received on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kenneth Nwoko, who welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to academic excellence. He assured the team that McPherson University remains open to constructive suggestions and recommendations that will further strengthen its programmes and enhance the quality of education offered by the institution.

The resource verification team was led by Dr. Anthony Ike Wegbom and comprised Dr. Segun Michael Omole, Mrs. Dombin Nandi, and Mr. Samson Atanda Gidado. During the visit, the team inspected the University’s human and material resources to ascertain compliance with the Board’s accreditation requirements for the programme.

The accreditation exercise featured a comprehensive assessment of the programme’s facilities, academic resources, staffing, equipment and other requirements to determine the University’s readiness to continue offering quality training in Health Information Management. The exercise also enabled the team to verify the University’s compliance with the standards prescribed by the Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN) for the accreditation of the programme.
