ICT Directorate is in charge of managing all ICT related services at McPherson University.

We manage student portal, university website and McU WiFi and hardware procured by the university to facilitate learning on campus.

Everyone should note that ICT only offers TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE on ICT related issues. For example if you have issues about payment on your portal, go to Bursary, if you cannot view your result or there’s error on your course form, complain to your HOD BUT if you cannot login to your portal then contact ICT.

Apart from Student portal we offer four (4) independent services to all students.

    Dr. Oladapo Olalekan Adeduro is an academic, researcher, and technology leader whose work sits at the intersection of cybersecurity, cloud computing, and digital transformation. He currently serves as the Acting Director of ICT at McPherson University, where he leads the development and management of the University’s digital infrastructure and supports institution‑wide technology-driven initiatives. He also serves as the Postgraduate Coordinator for the College of Computing and the Acting Head of the Department of Cybersecurity.

    He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Babcock University, where his research produced a hybrid-based cryptographic algorithm aimed at strengthening cloud data security. He earned his M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Lagos and a B.Tech. in Computer Science from the Federal University of Technology, Akure. His research interests include cloud security, machine learning, cryptographic systems, and advanced information security frameworks.

    Dr. Adeduro teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, offering courses in Ethical Hacking, Digital Forensics, Network Security, Algorithms, Compiler Construction, and Formal Models of Computation. He is actively involved in postgraduate supervision, guiding research in areas such as secure authentication systems, machine learning for student retention, and cybersecurity applications in emerging digital ecosystems.

    Before transitioning fully into academia, he built a strong professional career in the financial and technology sectors. He served as Managing Partner at Financial Care Advisers Limited and held senior roles at Core Asset Management Limited, including Head of Investment and Research. At Core Trust & Investment Limited, he rose from Analyst to Group Head of IT and Operations, gaining extensive experience in enterprise systems, operational strategy, and technology governance.

    His technical expertise is strengthened by a range of professional certifications from IBM and New Horizon, covering ethical hacking, quantum‑safe encryption, cloud-native application development, serverless computing, and data privacy. These competencies enrich both his teaching and his applied research in cybersecurity and cloud technologies.

    Dr. Adeduro has published widely in peer‑reviewed journals and conferences. His work spans insider‑threat detection using explainable AI, blockchain applications in academic environments, mobile network optimization, cloud security models, and interdisciplinary studies involving technology and public health. His collaborative research has been featured in international forums, including IEEE SEB4SDG and MoodleMoot Africa.

    Within the University, he contributes to academic leadership through roles such as Chairman of the Registration Committee and membership in the Student Disciplinary Committee. He also coordinates project and seminar defenses within the College of Computing.

    He is a member of several professional bodies, including ISACA, the Nigerian Computer Society (NCS), the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), and the Cyber Security Experts Association of Nigeria (CSEAN).

    Dr. Adeduro remains committed to advancing cybersecurity research, strengthening digital systems in higher education, and mentoring the next generation of computing professionals.

    1. McU WiFi – McU WiFi is the free internent connection available on campus for all students and staff to ease educational and learning activities.

    HOW TO LOGIN TO McU WiFi
    Step 1: Go to setting to ensure you turn on the WiFi button on your device.
    Step 2: Select McU WiFi
    Step 3: After selecting McU Wifi your browser will automatically open a page for you to login to the WiFi.
    Step 4: If the page does not load automatically, load it manually by opening your browser and type login.mcu.edu.ng
    Step 5: Once the page is loaded, input your username and password directly with your keyboard.
    Step 6: Proceed to enjoy the WiFi connection for educational purpose.

    2. McU Webmail – McU Webmail is the official email of McPherson Universiy and should be used for all official communications as a student of McU. It is also important for resetting password to your portal.

    Step 1: Type https://mcu.edu.ng on the browser
    Step 2: On the top right-hand corner, click E-portal
    Step 3: Select Staff/Student
    Step 4: Select Webmail
    Step 5: Login with the given username and password
    Username format:
    – surname initials @undergraduate.mcu.edu.ng for undergraduate students
    – surname initials @postgraduate.mcu.edu.ng for post graduate students
    – surname initials @mcu.edu.ng for staff
    Example: Email format for undergraduate student: Aina, Musa Chinam.
    McU Webmail will be: ainamc@undergraduate.mcu.edu.ng.
    Step 6: Click Round Cube to open Webmail

    3. McU LMS – LMS means Learning Management System. is a software application or web-based technology used to plan, implement and assess a specific learning process. An LMS provides an instructor with a way to create and deliver content, monitor student participation and assess student performance.

    Step 1: Download Moodle app
    Step 2: Type site http://10.1.0.207/
    Step 3: Login with the given username and password
    Step 4: Change password
    Note: To change password: Enter your default password given to you then new password you want to set. The new password must contain capital letters, small letters, numbers and special character e.g @, #, $, “, comma, full stop e.t.c
    Step 5: After you have logged in click site home > Course categories to navigate your courses. If a course requires enrolment key, see the course lecturer.

    HOW TO LOGIN TO McU LMS WITH BROWSER
    Ensure you are connected to McU WiFi
    Step 1: Type http://10.1.0.207/ on the browser
    Step 2: On the top right-hand corner, click E-portal
    Step 3: Select Student
    Step 4: Select McU LMS
    Step 5: Login with the given username and password (login is written in blue)
    Step 6: Change password.
    Note:: To change password: Enter your default password given to you then new password you want to set. The new password must contain capital letters, small letters, numbers and special character e.g @, #, $, “, comma, full stop e.t.c
    Step 7: After you have logged in click site home > Course categories to navigate your courses. If a course requires enrolment key, see the course lecturer.

    FORGOT PASSWORD ISSUES ON LMS
    Step 1: Click on Lost password on LMS App or LMS on browser
    Step 2: Search by email, a password reset will be sent to your McU Webmail.
    Step 3: Login to McU webmail, to see procedure for password reset.
    Step 4: Follow instructions in the email to reset your password.

    4. Microsoft License for Students and Staff: All students and staff of McPherson University are entitled to free Microsoft products on twenty-seven (27) Microsoft applications to ensure smooth running of educational activities both online and offline.
    The products include: Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, Powerbi and so on. The most important is Microsoft teams which will be used for online classrooms and meetings.
