McU Holds 11th Marathon, June 26

The much-awaited annual marathon event of McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State is billed for Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at the Car Park of College of Computing by 8:00 a.m.


This year’s marathon is the eleventh in the series and is expected to attract sports enthusiasts from far and near.
As a boost for this year’s event, the University under his amiable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francis Igbasan, has scaled up the monetary rewards for the winner, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up of the marathon to ₦50,000; ₦30,000; and ₦20,000 respectively, alongside the issuance of certificates of participation to all participants.


The marathon runners are expected to pass through designated routes from the COLCOM’s car park to the Foursquare Camp Auditorium, and back to the starting point.


According to the University’s Sports Coordinator, Coach Olutayo Balogun, all is now set for this year’s marathon with lots of side attractions in the offing, including a presentation from Leksports.
Members of the University Community are encouraged to grace this annual fiesta .

Therefore, we proudly announce 2024 Full Scholarship Programme for eligible candidates within Ajebo and Ogunmakin environs. Through the Host Community Full Scholarship Programme, we invest in the future of brilliant and indigent candidates within the environs. Eligibility:

  • Five relevant subjects in the O’ Level/SSC or its equivalent.
  • Must possess the required score in UTME 2024
  • Must be a native of the hosting communities with Letter of Attestation from a reputable Community leader
  • Must prove evidence of financial incapacitation.

Prospective candidates should note that their continuity on chosen programmes will be based on sessional academic performance of minimum of 3.5 CGPA to further retain the scholarship.
