McPherson University Sets To Induct Her First Nursing Graduates, July 31st

All is now set as McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, prepares for her inaugural induction ceremony of her first set of Nursing Graduates into the Nursing Profession.


The event billed for the University’s Multipurpose Hall on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 by 10:00 a.m., is expected to attract relevant stakeholders in the education sector, friends of the University from all walks of life, and the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria.


Dr. Dorothy ODETOLA, FWAPCNM, of the Department of Community Health Nursing, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, will be speaking on, “Advancing Frontiers In Nursing Education And Practice: Effect of Japa Syndrome On Sub-Saharan Africa”, in view of the national concern for brain drain.


Meanwhile, the Registrar, Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria, Alhaji(Dr.) Faruk Abubakar, is expected to grace this momentous occasion, where the fresh graduates will be inducted into the much-sought Nursing Profession as Registered Nurses(RN).


It is on record that the University’s first set of Nursing graduates came out with flying colors in the Nursing Council Examination held recently, which is an attestation of her commitment to building a new generation of nurses that would impact positively the global community.


The University Management welcomes all invited guests, members of staff and students, as it celebrates this milestone.

McPherson University Earns NUC’s Full Accreditation for 7 Programmes

McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State has again proven its net worth as a choice destination and fastest growing citadel of learning in Nigeria with the outcome of the October/November 2023 Accreditation of Academic Programmes in Nigerian Universities released recently by National Universities Commission(NUC).


In keeping with its avowed mission of providing qualitative, functional and sound education with godly virtues for leadership and positive impact on the society, the University presented seven academic programmes during the accreditation exercise,which were all fully accredited with excellent scores by NUC.


The Executive Secretary, NUC communicated the results of the accreditation exercise to the University in a release.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francis Igbasan, made the disclosure at a parley held recently with the University Community where he attributed the success recorded to the grace of God, dedication of faculty members, staff, availability of cutting-edge resources and facilities for learning, teaching and research at all levels.


While being appreciative of the efforts of all and sundry, he hinted that, “we should not rest on our oars as the Institution still have more grounds to cover,” urging all to brace up for the task ahead in repositioning the Institution for greatness.


The seven(7 )additional programmes granted full accreditation in the University by NUC are: Medical Laboratory Science,Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Mass Communication.


Each programme maturity date subsists till 2028.
With this stream of accreditation,all academic programmes in McPherson University are fully accredited.
