McPherson University officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ogun State Ministry of Health on Friday, 30th May 2025. This landmark agreement aims to foster collaboration in healthcare research and services.
Welcoming the university’s management to the ministry, Dr. (Mrs.) Olayinka Elemide, Permanent Secretary, stated that the MoU would enable McPherson University to conduct extensive research for the benefit of humanity through clinical and healthcare services. This will be achieved in collaboration with health and medical experts across Ogun State. Dr. Elemide further emphasised that the MoU would create opportunities for new talents to practically advance their careers within the health sector.
Professor Francis Igbasan, Vice-Chancellor of McPherson University, expressed his gratitude to the Ogun State Ministry of Health for providing the university with this opportunity. He highlighted how the partnership would propel students towards extensive and excellent training, offering invaluable clinical experiences.
The Vice-Chancellor further underscored the university’s commitment to producing highly qualified healthcare professionals capable of meeting global health demands. He shared with ministry officials the exciting news that McPherson University achieved a 100% pass rate in the recently concluded General Nursing Examination across Nigeria. Professor Igbasan also commended the Ogun State Government for providing robust security measures throughout the state and thanked the Ministry of Health for empowering McU students to advance their professionalism.
He enthused that this new opportunity would thoroughly prepare students for the challenges of working in the health service sector, ensuring they provide top-tier services.
