The Management of McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, has approved the appointment of Dr. Abiola Modupeola Omotoso, as the Acting Director, Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, with effect from August 1, 2025, for the 2025/2026 academic session.
Dr. Omotoso is a pioneer staff and experienced academic librarian with over 15 years of professional service in the higher education sector. She has made significant contributions to institutional development through her involvement in academic and administrative roles within and outside the University.
She holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mass Communication from The Polytechnic, Ibadan (2004), a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy (2006), a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS, 2010), and a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science, with a specialization in Knowledge Management (2020), all from the University of Ibadan.
Dr. Omotoso, began her career as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Library, Archival and Information Science at the University of Ibadan in 2010. She later joined the Voice of Nigeria (VON), as a Librarian and subsequently served as Deputy Head, Library Unit under the Directorate of Programmes between 2011 and 2012. She became one of the pioneer staff of McPherson University in 2012 and has remained a dedicated member of the University community.
Dr. Omotoso, currently, a Deputy Librarian, has served in various capacities, chairing and participating in strategic committees that have contributed to institutional goals. Her leadership style reflects focus, discipline, teamwork, and a deep understanding of the academic environment. She is known for promoting efficiency and collaboration in every responsibility entrusted to her.
From 2022 to 2025, Dr. Omotoso served as the Acting University Librarian. Her tenure was marked by innovation, commitment, and visionary leadership. In her new role as Acting Director of the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, she brings a strong blend of academic knowledge, practical experience, and purposeful leadership.
