McPherson University Receives NUC Team for Accreditation of Law Programme

McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, has received a delegation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for the accreditation of its Law Programme under the College of Law.

The four-member team, led by Professor Omerionwan Kingsley Edu from Delta State University, Abraka, arrived on campus to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the programme’s compliance with NUC standards and guidelines.

Other members of the team include Professor Omolade Oniyinde from Ekiti State University, Professor Abdulfatia Oladapo Sambo from the University of Ilorin, and F.O. Ariyo, representing the NUC.

The accreditation exercise, which represents another significant milestone in the University’s quest for academic excellence, involves a detailed assessment of academic resources, curriculum, staffing, infrastructure, and student support systems within the College of Law. The team, who were on ground from Wednesday, 15th October to Friday, 18th October, carried out a comprehensive review of facilities, examined relevant documents, and interacted extensively with staff and faculty members.

Welcoming the team, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francis Igbasan, expressed profound appreciation to the NUC for its steadfast commitment to quality assurance in higher education. He reaffirmed McPherson University’s dedication to maintaining high academic and ethical standards in line with the Commission’s expectations.

At the conclusion of the visit, Professor Igbasan thanked the NUC team for their professional conduct and constructive feedback. He assured that all observations and recommendations made during the exercise would be implemented promptly to further strengthen the programme.

In his exit remarks, Professor Omerionwan Kingsley Edu commended the University Management for its impressive investment in human and material resources for the Law Programme. He also highlighted key areas requiring improvement and encouraged the institution to look into.
