The Management of McPherson University has appointed Dr. Jerome Idiegbeyan-Ose, CLN, as the second substantive University Librarian.

Meet Uba Vanessa Wandiyahyel, a 200-level Accounting Student in the College of Humanities, Social and Management Sciences. She hails from Adamawa State in Northern Nigeria. Vanessa made the bold decision to move down south in pursuit of a higher education at McPherson University.

The Director of Foreign Missions, Foursquare Gospel Church, Rev. Sunday Adebiyi, led a 6-man delegation on a courtesy visit to McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State. The homage was marked by fruitful dialogue on prospective partnerships and institutional development.

In a remarkable display of innovation and excellence, a final-year Student of McPherson University has placed the Institution firmly on the continental map by securing a prestigious $5,000 grant from Lisk Africa.

A 400 level Nursing Science Student of McPherson University, Olojede Olateju Oluwapamilerin, has shared her experiences in Nursing education to inspire students considering studying the noble profession. She highlighted her passion for Nursing and the rigorous training she is undergoing at the University.

Aina Daniel Ayodele, a postgraduate student from the Department of Computer Science, College of Computing, recently defended his dissertation titled “A Machine Learning Model for Early Detection of Students at Risk of Dropping Out Using Psycho-social Data.” The project was presented in fulfillment of the requirements for the award of a Master’s degree in Computer Science.

The College of Natural and Applied Sciences (COLNAS) of McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, recently organized its 4th college seminar, titled “Mothballs: Anything to Worry About?” The event featured Dr. Ige F. Olaoye, an enzymologist, clinical biochemist, molecular, and computational biologist, as the keynote speaker. The seminar, moderated by Dr. Sunday Omeike, Acting Dean of Student Affairs, brought together College members, and researchers to discuss the potential health hazards of mothball exposure. 

The Honourable Commissioner for Infrastructure and Public Utilities, Ekiti State, has called on Nigerian youths to channel their restlessness into positive action as the nation undergoes significant transition. Speaking as the guest speaker at the 2025 Convocation Lecture of McPherson University, Seriki-Sotayo, Ogun State, the Commissioner emphasized that young people’s aspirations must be met with practical solutions in governance, economy, and technology to ensure a stable and prosperous future. 

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Engineer Kunle Allen, has hailed the resilience and achievements of graduating students at McPherson University’s combined 8th and 9th Convocation Ceremonies, describing the event as a celebration of excellence and progress. He emphasized the university’s remarkable growth, the dedication of its leadership, and the urgent need for expanded infrastructure to accommodate its increasing student population.

Education is not just about earning a degree but about becoming a person of value. This was the key message from Dr. Mutiu Sunmonu, CON, D.Sc., the Chancellor of McPherson University, as he addressed graduates at the institution’s 8th and 9th combined Convocation Ceremonies. The event, held on February 28, 2025, brought together dignitaries, college members, parents, and well-wishers to celebrate the achievements of the graduating students.
