In a heartwarming display of love and respect, staff members of McPherson University gathered to celebrate the birthday of the Ag. Registrar, Mr. Olufemi Adebowale. The event, which took place inside the office of the Registrar, was an opportunity for staff to come together and honour an icon for his dedication and hard work. Mr.Olufemi Adebowale’s leadership has been instrumental in pushing the University towards greater achievements, and this celebration was a fitting tribute to his ongoing contributions.

As Staff and Students of McPherson University returned to campus from the Christmas and New Year breaks, ahead of the second semester, activities kicked off seamlessly, with a special Monday morning prayer gathering at the Institution’s chapel.

Akinfenwa Omolola Bernice (Taiwo) and Akinfenwa Omotayo Bernita (Kehinde), two 300-level students at McPherson University, have come a long way since they began their academic journey. Despite being identical twins, they have carved out distinct paths in their studies and personal lives. While Omolola is focused on accounting, Omotayo has found her passion in nursing. Their unique journey through university life has not only been shaped by their different academic choices but also by their shared experiences as twins.

McPherson University held its annual Christmas Carol of Five Lessons, a festive celebration blending music, drama, and a special award ceremony to honor staff excellence. During the event which is usually graced by members of the university community, including staff, students, and distinguished guests, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Francis Igbasan, commended staff for their dedication to the growth of the university over the past year, highlighting their collective efforts in propelling the institution toward greater success.

Mojoyinoluwa and Mojolajesu Tiamiyu, two brilliant students at McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo are a set of identical twins who have spent their lives blending shared experiences with distinct personal identities. Born in Lagos, Nigeria, they have a rich cultural heritage and a close-knit family dynamic. With an older sister who once worked as a banker before pursuing a Master degree, the twins have always been surrounded by role models who emphasize the value of education and hard work. Though they share a deep familial bond, Taiwo and Kehinde have developed their own paths, both academically and personally, making their story one of fascinating duality.

Taiwo and Kehinde Aládé, also known as God’sPraise (Ìyìnolúwa) and God’sGreatness (Títóbiolúwa), are 100-level Nursing students at McPherson University. Hailing from Ọ̀yọ́ State, residing in Abúlé Ẹ̀gbá, the twins shared a unique story of inspiration, resilience, and mutual support. Their passion for Nursing was kindled by their love for learning and the influence of Ben Carson’s books. “Reading Think Big and You Have a Brain by Ben Carson was a turning point for me,” Taiwo shared. “It inspired me to pursue Nursing, knowing that I could combine compassion with science to make a difference.” 

McPherson University came alive on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, as it played host to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Town Hall Meeting. Held in the university’s Multipurpose Hall. The event brought together students, staff, and key stakeholders to discuss practical strategies for addressing Nigeria’s alarming road safety challenges.

Taiwo and Kehinde Ogunbode, are twin sisters and students of McPherson University. They shared an unbreakable bond that has helped them navigate life’s triumphs and challenges together. Their journey took a dramatic turn when they received news of their father’s unexpected demise. “We just got a call one morning that they found him dead inside. We don’t know what happened. He wasn’t the type that communicates much, so we had no idea if he was sick,” they recall.

McPherson University recently came alive with joy and celebration as the university community marked the 60th birthday of its esteemed Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francis Igbasan. The milestone event brought together students, staff, family, and well-wishers from across the country to honor a leader whose 28 months of transformative service have significantly shaped the institution.

McPherson University joined the global community to commemorate the 2024 World Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness Week, with the theme: “Educate, Advocate, Act Now.” The event was organized by the Medical Laboratory Science Department and featured a series of activities aimed at raising awareness, educating participants, and encouraging immediate action against the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance.
