Mrs. Adeofun’s appointment was contained in a letter, dated August 26, 2024 and signed by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, Rev. Dr. Babatunde Idowu, which read in part, “I have the pleasure to inform you that the Board of Trustees of McPherson University at its meeting of August 22nd, 2024, approved the recommendation of the Selection Panel of the Governing Council that you be appointed as the University Bursar.”

In a significant initiative to enhance food security and hygiene within its campus, McPherson University in Seriki Satayo, Ogun State, recently hosted a sensitization seminar aimed at educating food vendors on best practices for food safety.
Organized in collaboration with the institution’s Food Monitoring Committee, the event showed the University’s commitment in ensuring students and staff receive safe and nutritious meals.

McPherson University welcomed new sets of students during her 13th orientation program for the 2024/2025 academic session held at the University Multipurpose Hall. The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Francis Igbasan addressed the incoming freshmen, emphasizing the importance of being proactive as they embark on their academic journey in the University where he described as the “Home of Champions.”

As part of the ongoing effort of McPherson University to ensure her students get the best possible experience, a team of students in their third-year at McPherson University have made significant strides in improving the student experience by developing a groundbreaking Hostel Allocation Management System. In partnership with New-Horizon, a renowned IT training institute registered with the University. These innovative students have created a platform that will streamline hostel management and enhance the overall quality of student life.

On Monday, October 7, 2024, McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, a tertiary institution of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, received a new set of students, marking the commencement of the 2024/25 academic session, with enthusiasm and delight.

All is now set as McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, prepares for her inaugural induction ceremony of her first set of Nursing Graduates into the Nursing Profession.

McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State has again proven its net worth as a choice destination and fastest growing citadel of learning in Nigeria with the outcome of the October/November 2023 Accreditation of Academic Programmes in Nigerian Universities released recently by National Universities Commission(NUC).

In keeping with its avowed mission of providing qualitative, functional and sound education with godly virtues for leadership and positive impact on the society, the University presented seven academic programmes during the accreditation exercise,which were all fully accredited with excellent scores by NUC.

The Executive Secretary, NUC communicated the results of the accreditation exercise to the University in a release.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francis Igbasan, made the disclosure at a parley held recently with the University Community where he attributed the success recorded to the grace of God, dedication of faculty members, staff, availability of cutting-edge resources and facilities for learning, teaching and research at all levels.

While being appreciative of the efforts of all and sundry, he hinted that, “we should not rest on our oars as the Institution still have more grounds to cover,” urging all to brace up for the task ahead in repositioning the Institution for greatness.

The seven(7 )additional programmes granted full accreditation in the University by NUC are: Medical Laboratory Science,Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Mass Communication.

Each programme maturity date subsists till 2028.
With this stream of accreditation,all academic programmes in McPherson University are fully accredited.

The much-awaited annual marathon event of McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State is billed for Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at the Car Park of College of Computing by 8:00 a.m.

This year’s marathon is the eleventh in the series and is expected to attract sports enthusiasts from far and near.
As a boost for this year’s event, the University under his amiable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francis Igbasan, has scaled up the monetary rewards for the winner, 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up of the marathon to ₦50,000; ₦30,000; and ₦20,000 respectively, alongside the issuance of certificates of participation to all participants.

The marathon runners are expected to pass through designated routes from the COLCOM’s car park to the Foursquare Camp Auditorium, and back to the starting point.

According to the University’s Sports Coordinator, Coach Olutayo Balogun, all is now set for this year’s marathon with lots of side attractions in the offing, including a presentation from Leksports.
Members of the University Community are encouraged to grace this annual fiesta .
