The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria has officially approved McPherson University, Ogun State, as one of the centers for its statutory examinations in the state. This decision comes after a thorough assessment of the facilities at the Department of Nursing Science, College of Allied Health Sciences. The approval marks another milestone for the University, as a growing Center for excellence in healthcare education.

The i-Code cohort 5-day training, organised by the ICP Hubs Network, concluded on Friday 25th October 2024, marking a significant step towards empowering developers in Nigeria to harness the potentials of blockchain technology. The Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) initiative aims to provide comprehensive training and support for developers to create blockchain products, emphasizing the growing importance of this technology in all sectors.

Babatunde Oyindamola, a 300-level student from the College of Computing, McPherson University, has been awarded as the Best Hackathon 2024 Champion after an intensive week-long boot-camp competition held in Lagos. The event, organized by Data Science Nigeria (DSN), showcased the growing interest in artificial intelligence and provided a platform for emerging tech talents from across the nation.

In a pivotal initiative to strengthen technology education in Nigeria, McPherson University in Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, recently partnered with the ICP Sahara Hubs Network to organise a five-day i-CODE Cohort Programme. Held at the university’s ICT Lab, this initiative aims at empowering developers with the skills needed to build scalable blockchain products on the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP).

Mrs. Adeofun’s appointment was contained in a letter, dated August 26, 2024 and signed by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, Rev. Dr. Babatunde Idowu, which read in part, “I have the pleasure to inform you that the Board of Trustees of McPherson University at its meeting of August 22nd, 2024, approved the recommendation of the Selection Panel of the Governing Council that you be appointed as the University Bursar.”

In a significant initiative to enhance food security and hygiene within its campus, McPherson University in Seriki Satayo, Ogun State, recently hosted a sensitization seminar aimed at educating food vendors on best practices for food safety.
Organized in collaboration with the institution’s Food Monitoring Committee, the event showed the University’s commitment in ensuring students and staff receive safe and nutritious meals.
