Dr. Jerome Idiegbeyan-Ose PhD, CLN, is an accomplished academic Librarian and administrator with over 20 years of experience in Higher Education, Library Management, and Information Resource Development.
Born on March 3, 1976, in Edo State, Nigeria, he holds a Bachelor of Library and Information Science from Edo State University, Ekpoma (1999), a Master of Library and Information Studies from the University of Ibadan (2007), and a PhD in Information Resources Management from Babcock University (2017), Ogun State.
His professional journey began at Wolex Polytechnic, Lagos (2002–2003), and continued at Benson Idahosa University, Benin City (2003–2011), where he rose through the ranks to Librarian II and held key roles in technical services and collection development. From 2011 to 2018, he served at Covenant University, Ota, advancing from Librarian I to Acting University Librarian in 2017. He was later appointed University Librarian at Landmark University, Omu-Aran (2018–2020), and served as Polytechnic Librarian at the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji (2020–2025). In May, 2025, he joined McPherson University as the 2nd Substantive University Librarian.
Dr. Idiegbeyan-Ose is a Certified Librarian of Nigeria (CLN, 2011) and a longstanding member of the Nigerian Library Association (since 2003), including its Cataloguing and Classification Section. He is also registered with the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN). Since 2021, he has served as Chairman of the Nigerian Library Association, Ondo State Chapter, promoting professional development and library advocacy.
He has served on several Institutional Committees across the universities where he has worked, including research, convocation, ICT, and Staff promotion. Dr. Idiegbeyan-Ose is deeply committed to fostering access to knowledge, innovation in information services, and institutional excellence. He is married and blessed with children.
