A delegation from the College of Postgraduate Studies, McPherson University, has paid an official visit to the College of Postgraduate Studies at Babcock University as part of efforts to strengthen and expand its postgraduate programmes.
The team, led by the Ag. Dean, College of Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Michael Osho, included the Secretary of the College, Mrs. Olanike Adesida, and Mr. Ehi Emhonyon. They were warmly received by the Provost, College of Postgraduate Studies, Babcock University, Professor Olutayo S. Shokunbi, alongside the Deputy Provost, Professor Emmanuel Ajike; College Secretary and Deputy Registrar, Dr. T. J. Owolabi; Exams Officer (Postgraduate), Dr. Adeleye Olufemi; and Principal Assistant Registrar, Mrs. Joy Kelvin-Ogbeide.
The visit was aimed at understudying the structure, processes, and operational model of Babcock University’s postgraduate school, especially as McPherson University intensifies efforts to expand its own postgraduate programmes. The interaction provided an opportunity for engagement, learning, and exposure to best practices.
In his remarks, Professor Shokunbi expressed the institution’s willingness to share insights on their growth journey, from inception to their current status. He noted that Babcock University also relied on guidance from established institutions in its early years and is therefore committed to supporting others.
Responding after the presentation, Dr. Osho expressed appreciation for the warm reception and the openness of the Babcock postgraduate leadership. He commended the team for their readiness to share valuable knowledge that will contribute significantly to the advancement of McPherson University’s postgraduate programmes.
The visit further strengthened the relationship between both institutions, creating a platform for continued dialogue and mutual academic support. Members of the two teams expressed confidence that the interaction would promote deeper understanding of effective postgraduate management and administration.
As McPherson University works toward expanding its postgraduate portfolio, the knowledge gained from the visit is expected to guide upcoming reforms and programme development. The institution reiterated its dedication to adopting best practices that will enhance the quality and competitiveness of its postgraduate education.
