The management of McU is cognizant of the importance of sporting activities in the physical and emotional development of its students. Consequently, ample provisions in terms of a standard football field, athletic tracks, volley ball, hand ball and tennis courts all complimented by standard spectators’ stands were constructed for these activities right from the inception of the university and they are located at a walking distance from the hostels.

Students are encouraged to participate in indoor and outdoor activities of their choice during their free periods.  Lectures end at 12 noon of Wednesdays to enable students participate in sporting activities of their choice.  Inter-collegiate sporting activities are organized towards the end of every session during which trophies are competed for.  Also, ample provisions exist for various indoor games in the multipurpose hall and in the halls of residence.

The University also participates in inter-university sporting activities, particularly Nigerian Private Universities Games (NPUGA). McU students have won several medals, gold inclusive.
