The Vice Chancellor, McPherson University, Prof. Francis Igbasan, today, paid a courtesy visit to the Ogun State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corp, Mrs. Olayinka Diana Nasamu.
The Vice Chancellor was accompanied on the visit by the Institution’s Ag. Registrar, Mr. Olufemi Adebowale, the university’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sanmi Enigbokan and a few members of staff.
The visit was at the instance of Prof. Igbasan, who informed his host of his penchant for continually oiling the existing relationship between the institution and it’s stakeholders. He emphasises the need for effective collaboration McPherson University has been having with the NYSC, since he assumed office as Vice Chancellor in August 2022.
“I have been having a good relationship with the leadership of the Ogun State National Youth Service Corps. since my assumption of duties as Vice Chancellor of McPherson University and it has become very important to also pay you this visit, being the first after you came on board as Coordinator of the NYSC in this State” said the university don.
Briefing the host on the purpose of his visit, Prof. Igbasan requested more Corps members, especially Medical doctors and nurses, be deployed to McPherson University ahead of the next batch of postings. “We would appreciate if we can get Medical doctors deployed to our institution. It’s will go a long way in helping beef up our medical team for effective service to staff and our immediate community” emphasized Prof. Igbasan.
The Coordinator, Mrs. Nasamu, expressed her appreciation of the team for the visit and used the opportunity to educate the entourage of her stewardship since coming on board. She promised to look into the request of the Vice Chancellor and further sought for an improved welfare of Corps members deployed to the institution.
“As a mother and also the Coordinator of the program in this State, I place premium on the welfare of my children. When they are well taken care of, they will render their best to the nation, irrespective of where we post them. I am ready to partner with your institution and work with you on the request you have made.”
